you know the drink man
you know you got kick it
and the weed man
you know you have to stick it
up your ass man
because its dangerous
with lieutenant around
everyone'll get arrested
can't develop man
your only five feet tall
and with a hat on
you still are looking small
try my shoes on
to confuse lieutenant
you can confound the man
if you just stand still
(we all know the drill)
yes i know
but its old news
that he grows stronger with time
check my wrist watch, time me
i'll be zero to sixty
half a second
'fore his rat pack
gets anywhere near me
but ya'll wouldn't be so lucky
(tell us again)
yo that drink man
he knows that ain't kool-aid
and that wrist watch
he knows where you got it from
he will bottom out
bottom up
every punk up in this joint be warned ya'll
the lieutenant's in town
(knock you upside down)
bust that cap off your head
turn it right side round
(just a slap on the wrist)
with a handcuff
iron hand
in a clenched fist
but it all can be avoided
if you just stand still
(we all know the drill)
yes i know
but you're fidgeting
and you know that he hates to see (ah, ah ah)
group of kids looking down at the time
impatiently awaiting punishment
accused of a new crime
you know the weed man
you know you got to ditch it
and the drink man
do you think you can finish it?
got a weird feeling that lieutenant's around
and i wont be staying standing here to find out
thought you'ze old school
thought you was (known the drill)
unless you run like me
than he ruin your night
and as he ran in fright
the dark arm came down
and the lieutenants club
knocked his eyeballs out
[guitar solo]
[we all know the drill]
yes i know
but please, if everyone'll
just stand still

Silent Tears
by Connie
Last night when I went to bed
beautiful thoughts of you filled my troubled head
I have not cried in many years but onto my pillow
tonight fell six silent tears
The first was for your smile I missed so much and
your soft tender lips that I longed to kiss and touch
The second was for your angelic face and the
thought of your warm loving gentle embrace
The third was no suprise the tear fell as I
pictured your bright beautiful blue eyes
Then the fourth came rolling
Iinstead of my pillow you should be the one I am holding
The fith silent tear fell for one reason alone
I knew my love for you was not shown
I miss you so much my sweet dear
there rolled the sixth sad silent tear.

Yogi Quotes
It gets late early out there
If you come to a fork in the road, take it
I always thought that record would stand until it was broken
Why buy good luggage? You only use it when you travel.
The other teams could make trouble for us if they win.
I didn't really say everything I said.
You should always go to other people's funerals; otherwise, they won't come to yours.
This is like deja vu all over again.
You can observe a lot just by watching.
I want to thank you for making this day necessary.

she taught me to cherish ignorance
and our first kiss tasted like raspberry cough syrup
she garnished her sleeves with diaper pins
so that while hugging she wouldn't prick me
our first kiss tasted like raspberry cough syrup
and our last kiss tasted like expired lipstick
and while hugging she wouldn't prick me
cause she was scared to share our blood
our last kiss tasted like expired lipstick
and that taste stayed and wouldn't go away
but she was scared to share our blood
so the lipstick outlived the love
the taste that stayed and wouldn't go away
with the way she taught me to brush my teeth
so the lipstick outlived the brushing
she taught me to brush my teeth
and how to take my temperature
she taught me to cherish ignorance
and she would say:
if I know what i'm doing
you probably know what i'm doing too
if I know what i'm doing
and you know what i'm doing
than there is no point
the focus of knowing upon unkowing
and the negociation back and forth
too and fro

But commercial success never came his way, and instead of a star, Linkous became something different and much more interesting: a cult figure.
Who got to decide the size of business cards (anyway)?
the spokes of the wheel of a bicycle
pretty blond girls
walking hand in hand,
skinny blond girls
you know it's raining
but you can't feel it
everyone was going somewhere
but now they must have gotten there
a tornado blew through
and nobody moved
a hurricane came though
and nobody felt wet
a typhoon ensued
no one was bruised
traffic was jammed
and everyone held there horns
driving over the train tracks
for miles
you feel the rain
but it's not raining
children's cough medicine
(cherish ignorance)

pieces of a puzzle
in a powerful state
there lies an undisclosed location
in which there is a nondescript building
in which there is a big office
in which there is a big board
that thinkers drag their fingers across
to think
and to make things happen
and I got lost from my tour group
very lost
and happened to stumble into
this very important place
only everyone was on a lunch break
except the security guard
"hey what are you doing in here?"
"oh i'm sorry, i was with my tour group and i got lost"
very lost
and i looked upon the big board and all the things it did
and he let me try it
oh that one looks a Z!
and now it looks like an N!
that one's a square!
and that one's a line!
and this one looks like a fried egg...
only now it's upside down.
and they all fit together.
only now it's all speeding up!
and everything's building up!!
and it's hitting the ceiling!!!
game over.
wanna play again?
enter your name?
oh, ok.
enter your age?
oh, ok.
enter your phone number?
oh, ok.
enter your address?
oh, ok.
enter your blood type.
oh, ok.
enter your shoe size?
oh, ok.
what are you wearing?
return, return, return!!!!
but it was too late
everyone had returned from their lunch break
and i didn't even get to hear what they had
"a fried egg, only upside down"
huh...
i was in new york city on holiday
walking down a street
on the set of a movie
and i noticed something strange
all the cars and the buildings
and the people
they all fit together
like pieces of a puzzle
except only if you could look at it fast enough
everything fits together
like pieces of a puzzle
but only if you can look at it fast enough
