she taught me to cherish ignorance
and our first kiss tasted like raspberry cough syrup
she garnished her sleeves with diaper pins
so that while hugging she wouldn't prick me

our first kiss tasted like raspberry cough syrup
and our last kiss tasted like expired lipstick
and while hugging she wouldn't prick me
cause she was scared to share our blood

our last kiss tasted like expired lipstick
and that taste stayed and wouldn't go away
but she was scared to share our blood
so the lipstick outlived the love

the taste that stayed and wouldn't go away
with the way she taught me to brush my teeth
so the lipstick outlived the brushing

she taught me to brush my teeth
and how to take my temperature
she taught me to cherish ignorance
and she would say:

if I know what i'm doing
you probably know what i'm doing too
if I know what i'm doing
and you know what i'm doing
than there is no point

the focus of knowing upon unkowing
and the negociation back and forth
too and fro
